  • Provide open and transparent governance working to engage Suwanee citizens

  • Maintain public safety as a priority, with enhanced support and funding for law enforcement,

       EMS and fire services

  • Provide careful consideration of the cost and impact on existing infrastructure and traffic before taking future planning and zoning actions

  • Work toward the revitalization of the Suwanee Gateway area, including working with our law enforcement agencies to eliminate sex trafficking issues and other criminal activities for a safer environment for our Suwanee community

Meet Julianna McConnell


“My family and I are truly blessed to call Suwanee our home town community for over 37 years – where we have our home, businesses, unlimited recreational opportunities and our nearby place of worship”

  • Over 37 year resident of Suwanee witnessing the growth of Suwanee from a small town among the railroad tracks with a population of around 1000 to an award-winning city with over 20,000 residents

  • Married with 3 children and 8 grandchildren

  • Daughter and younger son graduated from North Gwinnett High School

  • Older son owns administrative law office in Suwanee

  • Younger son building home in Suwanee and owns a roofing construction office located in Suwanee

       Town Center area

  • Member of 12Stone Church, participating in numerous activities in Suwanee community

History and Early Background
  • Grew up as a country girl on a dirt road in Carroll County

  • Worked two jobs to pay her way through college earning two degrees along with becoming a CPA

  • Became sole female Executive VP of a Utility Service Association and then the founding President/CEO of a small government relations firm focusing on healthcare, developmental disabilities and fighting sex trafficking.

  • Political consultant for over 25 years advocating to strengthen Georgia laws and provide necessary
    state funding for nurses, nursing schools, licensed professional counselors, and the intellectual and development disabled population.

  • One of the pioneer advocates in Georgia fighting to end the evil of sex trafficking.

  • Contributed her time serving on Suwanee schools’ PTSAs and numerous sporting teams/events at

       George Pierce Park.

  • Hosted numerous events on home property for children, including homeless children, for over 30 years including Christmas/Easter/Halloween parties and fishing derbies

President/CEO and founder of The Preston Group, Inc., a government relations firm with primary focus on services in the areas of healthcare, mental health, developmental disabilities, domestic minor sex trafficking and miscellaneous other issues.

  • Advocated over 25 years to strengthen Georgia laws and expand the Georgia budget

    • Removing healthcare delivery barriers for nurses and licensed professional counselors

    • Expanding affordable, qualified access to healthcare

    • ​Providing mental healthcare parity

    • ​Reducing healthcare provider shortages in Georgia

    • Strengthening laws fighting against sex trafficking

  • Serve on the Georgia Commission on Women for over 30 years, working on behalf of women’s issues focusing on healthcare and fighting sex trafficking.

  • Director Emeritus of Go Energy Credit Union, serving on the board over 35 years

  • Educational Degrees/Professional Certifications include:

    • ​BBA degree in Accounting/Finance

    • ​Master’s Degree in Business Administration

    • Certified Public Accountant

    • 2013 Leadership Gwinnett Graduate

    • James Magazine Top Lobbyist Hall of Fame Inductee in 2021

    • Mercer University College School of Nursing’s Hall of Honor Inductee in 2023 for Leadership in Health

    • 2019 & 2021 Advocacy Excellence Award by the License Professional Counselors Association 

    • ​2021 AANP State Award for Excellence as the national recipient for advocacy achievements in Georgia on behalf of Nurse Practitioners

    • Government Relations firm recognized in top 10 non-law smaller lobbying firms in Georgia in JamesMagazine in 2021 and 2022
